Medical skin conditions (dermatological)
The genitals are just one part of your body’s largest organ: The Skin.
Some rashes on the genitals are not due to a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI), but are due to a condition that can affect any part of your skin, and just happens to show itself on your genitals first.
It is important to think about any other areas of skin on your body that have symptoms as well as your hair, nails and inside your mouth. Some conditions can affect your skin as well as your joints at the same time.
If there are a number of things happening at once it might be best to see you GP who can help or refer you to a skin specialist.
- If in doubt, visit your GP.
- If you have had unprotected sex, it is still wise to get a tested for STIs - please order a test kit here.
