What is PrEP?
PrEP means pre-exposure prophylaxis - It is a pill that you take before and after unprotected sex to prevent you acquiring HIV.
How can I get PrEP?
PrEP is now available free of charge from our service for anyone who needs it.
-
If you are having sex without a condom with someone who has HIV, but they are sticking to their HIV treatment and are told they are ‘undetectable’ then you have zero risk of catching HIV from them. You do not need PrEP
-
If you are having sex without a condom with someone who is at high risk of having HIV, but not known to be taking effective HIV treatment then we would encourage you to take PrEP.
If you believe you need PrEP and want to access it from us, then please contact the team on 0208 401 3766 and inform the receptionist that you want to book an appointment to discuss PrEP.
